RPL/RCC
Recognition of Prior Learning/ Recognition of Current Competencies
Basic Principle:
Recognition of Prior Learning or Recognition of Current Competency is to be offered to all participants when they 'enrol' (i.e. express serious interest) in gaining a particular qualification, for which they already possess any required prerequistes.
A nationally recognised qualification issued by another Registered Training Organisation (RTO) must be recognised automatically by the RFS. (For further details contact the Zone Learning & Development Officer).
Procedures:
Obtain a copy of the RFS 'How to become qualified in ........ booklet (if available) for the subject in which you are seeking RPL from the Zone Training Coordinator.
Using the relevant booklet, check to see if you are already qualified in the subject. If not, complete the 'self assessment' section to determine if you (although not qualified) may already be competent. If you determine that you may already be competent, study the relevant booket for information about what evidence YOU will need to present to be assessed.
REMEMBER: - It is YOUR responsibility to provide the evidence.
